TSRTC to resume bus service to Karnataka, Maharashtra from September 28

Hyderabad(Hyd): Telangana (TL) State Road Transport Corporation (TSRTC) on Sat. stated it’d reopen its bus service to neighboring Karnataka(KA) & Maharashtra(MH) from Sep 28, although no such call has been taken with regard to AP.

State-run TSRTC’s solutions to Bengaluru going to remain discontinued however different destinations like Raichur, Bidar & Gulbarga going to be resumed.

Similarly, TSRTC going to also run buses to Mumbai (Bombay), Pune, Nanded, Nagpur, Chandrapur, & different destinations in Maharashtra(MH).

The state transport buses from these states going to also be permitted to operate in Telangana (TL).

Deadlock between Telangana (TL) & AP

The deadlock between Telangana (TL) & AP over the restart of people trasport service continued as 4 rounds of talks between authorities of the 2 states failed to resolve the impasse.

Telangana (TL) is demanding that APSRTC lessen its bus activities & operate on equal footing with TSRTC. The APSRTC operates buses on 2.five lakh route km in Telangana (TL), 1 lakh km over the gap covered by TSRTC in AP.

The bus solutions have been discontinued in Mar following countrywide lock-down to prevent the spread of COVID-19.

TSRTC resumed bus solutions in Telangana (TL) on May 19, following relaxations in lock-down rules.

Although, city bus solutions in Hyderabad(Hyd) had remained discontinued in see of the high COVID-19 instances. The city solutions have been restored only a day back. TSRTC resumed 25 percent solutions from all 29 depots in Greater Hyderabad(Hyd) Zone.

TSRTC operates over 3,000 buses within the zone. Before COVID-19, these buses habituated to make 43,000 trips, transporting over 30 lakh passengers daily.
