Christian Tybring-Gjedde, a four-term member of Parliament & chairman of the Norwegian delegation to the NATO Parliamentary Assembly, submitted the nomination to the Nobel Committee.
“For his own merit, I think he’s finished extra trying to create peace between countries than most different Peace Prize nominees,” Tybring-Gjedde stated of Trump throughout an interview with Fox Information.
Trump declared past month that the U.S. has been contributing to help the complete normalization of ties between Israel & UAE, a historical breakthrough in relations within the Middle East & part of the administration’s measures to shore up help over Iran.
In the context of the settlement, Israel would suspend measures to annex territory within the West Bank that has been outlined in Trump’s schedule for peace between the Israelis & Palestinians.
UAE also officially stopped is boycott over Israel, opening up trade, commerce & air travel between the 2 nations.
Within the nomination letter, Tybring-Gjedde stated the Trump administration performed a major role in thawing relations between the 2 nations.
“As it’s awaited different Middle Eastern nations going to follow within the footsteps of the UAE, this settlement can be a game changer that going to turn the Middle East into a area of cooperation & prosperity,” he wrote.
He also cited Trump’s “major role in facilitating contact between conflicting parties & … making new dynamics in different protracted conflicts, like the Kashmir border dispute between India(In) & Pakistan(PAK), & the conflict between North & South Korea, along with handling the nuclear capabilities of North Korea.”
Tybring-Gjedde, who’s a member of Norway’s conservative-leaning Progress Party, also praised Trump for withdrawing army from the Middle East.
“Indeed, Trump has broken a 39-year-old streak of American Presidents either beginning a war (or) bringing the United States into an Intl. armed conflict. The last president to avoid doing so has been Peace Prize laureate Jimmy Carter,” he wrote.
