Hyderabad(Hyd): Hamna Mariyam, a young lady diplomat of 2017 Indian Foreign Service (IFS) batch, joined the Indian Consulate Gen., Jeddah on December. 10, 2019 as the new consul of social welfare.

Daughter of a known doctor couple from Calicut in Malabar area of Kerala(KL), Hamna chose a career different than medicine, & studied English language & literature from Ramjas College & collected her master’s graduation within the same discipline from Delhi(DL) University. Awhile serving as asst. professor in Farook College, Calicut, she bagged the 28th rank within the Civil Solutions exam.
Hamna’s dad is a renowned pediatrician Dr. T.P. Ashraf, previous superintend of Calicut Medical College & previous executive director of Kerala(KL) govt’s Social Security Mission awhile her mom Dr. P.V. Jowhara is a physiologist in Calicut Medical College.
Mariyam wedded Abdul Muzammil Khan, an IAS official of Telangana (TL) cadre of the same batch. Muzammil Khan is the youngest son of A.K. Khan, retired IPS official & previous Police Comissioner of Hyderabad(Hyd).
1st lady official in CG Jeddah
Hamna assumed position in Consulate Gen., Jeddah after her tenure in the Indian Embassy in Paris where she’d finished her French language training before leaving Europe in Oct this yr.
Indian Consul Gen.
