EU’s 6 Groups Moved Resolution Against CAA & Article 370

A total of 6 resolutions have been benched by 6 groups in the European Parliament, have asked the Indian authorities to ‘engage constructively’ with people protesting against the CAA law and consider their requests or demands to repeal the “discriminatory CAA”.

The EPP (European People’s Party) is the largest European political party with conservative and liberal-conservative member parties. A transnational organization consists of other political parties.

The European Parliament is set to debate and vote on a settlement by a number of its members from India’s Citizenship Amendment Act, which it states marks a dangerous change in the nation’s citizenship regime.

Six groupings comprising of 559 members at the European Parliament tabled collectively the resolution.

The resolution, tabled by the European United Left/Nordic Green Left (GUE/NGL) Group at the Parliament earlier this week, is defined to be debated 29 January, with a vote on 30 January.

A total of six settlements have been tabled by classes inside the EU, including the Team of the Progressive Alliance of Socialists and Democrats in the European Parliament (S&D), Group of the European People’s Party (Christian Democrats) (PPE), Group of their Greens/European Free Alliance (Verts/ALE), European Conservatives and Reformists Group (ECR), Renew Europe Group (Renew) and European United Left/Nordic Green Left (GUE/NGL) Group.

Another grouping, that signifies 66 Members of European Parliament (MEPs), has transferred a sixth settlement which affirms the Act but involves an impartial probe to”excessive use of force by security forces” against anti-CAA protesters, reports The Indian Express.

The authorities bracing for six scathing settlements on CAA and include Jammu and Kashmirreports The Hindu.
