Hyderabad(Hyd): After a delay of 6 mos, Telangana (TL) CM K. Chandrasekhar Rao’s daughter K. Kavitha finally appears set to enter the state Legislative Council.
With the Election Commission announcing Oct nine as the date of polling for the by-election for the post of MLC from Nizamabad Regional Officials Constituency, Kavitha’s election appears to be only a formality given the massive majority the ruling Telangana (TL) Rashtra Samithi (TRS) enjoys in regional bodies in Nizamabad.
As the TRS has 598 out of overall 824 voters, Kavitha’s election is being witnessed as a foregone conclusion. Although, the TRS command has alerted the party chiefs over complacency & overconfidence.
Chandrasekhar Rao has instructed the party chiefs to make sure her victory with a massive margin.
Congress had just 140 seats awhile the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) is in distant 3rd place with 84. Although, the TRS chiefs aren’t taking any chances.
Kavitha had got a shock defeat in the hands of BJP’s D. Arvind in Nizamabad Lok Sabha constituency previous year. It has been a big blow for the CM’s daughter who has been elected from that same constituency in 2014.
