LAS VEGAS – President Donald Trump said the intelligence saying that Russia was again meddling in a coming presidential election in his favor was a partisan “misinformation campaign.”
President Trump stated that a revelation by intelligence officers that Russia was meddling at a presidential election in his favour was another campaign against him.
“Another misinformation campaign has been released by Democrats in Congress stating that Russia favors me to some of those Do-Nothing Democrat candidates that have been unable to, following fourteen days, count their votes in Iowa,” Mr. Trump composed on Twitter. “Hoax amount 7!”
The intelligence evaluation, delivered to lawmakers on the House Intelligence Committee, decided that Russia is likely to intervene from the entire election in addition to the 2024 primaries. However, the way it had been sent upset some Republicans, along with the presence of Representative Adam B. Schiff, Democrat of California and the chairman of the committee that headed the impeachment proceedings, especially angry Mr. Trump.
The president’s choice to eliminate the director of national intelligence, Joseph Maguire, and put in the ambassador to Germany Richard Grenell along with a loyalist, was regarded as an immediate results of the briefing. On Thursday evening, Mr. Trump told reporters aboard Air Force One which Representative Doug Collins of Georgia, an ally and a vocal opponent of impeachment, was among those candidates under consideration as a permanent successor. From Friday afternoon, Mr. Collins stated he wasn’t interested.
“This isn’t a job which interests meat that moment, it is not one that I’d accept since I am running a Senate race in Georgia,” Mr. Collins said in an interview on Fox News.
